A total of 20 Search and Rescue technicians from 435 Squadron and other CAF bases took part in the first-ever SAR Canopy Control Course at Gimli Industrial park airfield —70 km north of Winnipeg.

“Normally we do these types of courses in the US with private companies,” said Master Corporal Steve Delage, SAR Tech course coordinator for the 12-day training program. “It’s not common for SAR Techs to receive this type of course.”
