CFB Petawawa: Over $5000 raised during Cadet Paint Night

About 300 people, over two separate sessions, put paint to canvas raising funds for Petawawa’s 2642 3 RCR Army Cadet Corps during their inaugural Paint Night. Once expenses were cleared, the November 4- 5 events brought in more than $5000 to help enrich the cadets’ programming.

According to the cadets’ Commanding Officer Captain Destiny Genoe, this first-time fundraiser turned out to be a surprising success. Organizers had originally planned to bring in a maximum of 100 people, but they soon found themselves drowning in invitation requests.

Even after selling more than 300 tickets, people still hoped to take part. “We sold out completely,” said Capt Genoe, adding that she was touched by the overwhelming support.
