Maj Denis Bandet, Deputy Commanding Officer of 409 Squadron, has been selected to be the Snowbirds Team Leader effective winter of 2017, in preparation for the 2018 air show season.

Maj Bandet has 1000 hours of flying time on 431 (Air Demonstration) Squadron’s CT-114 Tutor jet, accumulated during his posting to the Snowbirds from 2011 to 2013.

Maj Bandet says although he has been away from 431 Squadron for four years, flying operational missions in a CF-18 has reinforced for him the importance of the Snowbirds’ work.

The Snowbirds’ message is “skill, professionalism, and teamwork,” he said, and they reflect those qualities not just on behalf of the RCAF but for the CAF as a whole.

As luck would have it, the next biennial Cold Lake Air Show will take place in 2018. For Maj Bandet, this will be an exciting homecoming.
