National Public Service Week June 11-17

National Public Service Week (NPSW) celebrates the important work of federal public servants and recognizes their contributions to Canada. This year, to celebrate Canada 150, the Defence Team will mark NPSW with the theme “History in Defence,” and will explore the many ways in which civilians have supported the Canadian Armed Forces over the decades.
National Defence welcomes NPSW as an opportunity to recognize and acknowledge our team of dedicated civilian employees and the significant contributions they make to both the Defence Team and Canadians. Whether it is through procuring new military equipment, developing next-generation technology, or providing critical human or financial resources, civilians at National Defence play an important role in the successes of our men and women in uniform, not only overseas, but also at bases and wings across Canada.
For many, the Public Service of Canada remains an employer of choice. Through initiatives such as Blueprint 2020, employees have provided great feedback on ways in which the Public Service can be improved. At National Defence we have committed to improving awareness of the importance of maintaining health and well-being in the workplace.

Over the years, NPSW has become a truly national campaign that respects and reflects the diversity of the Public Service of Canada and the country itself. Many events are scheduled across the country to build greater awareness among employees and the general public about the role of Canada’s Public Service.
