Canada will contribute a Land Task Force with more than 455 personnel, including a battlegroup headquarters element, a mechanized infantry company, combat service support, vehicles, and equipment to be based at Camp Adazi, Latvia.
As preparations continue for the June deployment of the multinational battlegroup—part of NATO’s enhanced forward presence in Latvia—Canadian Armed Forces (CAF equipment arrived in the Port of Riga to support Operation REASSURANCE, the CAF’s contribution to NATO assurance measures in Central and Eastern Europe.
The equipment will be used to construct facilities such as accommodation and vehicle maintenance bays at the camp where the battlegroup will be based.
