Members of the 2nd Canadian Division and Joint Task Force (East) participated in Montreal’s Pride Parade on August 20.

“Diversity in the Canadian Armed Forces is a core value, where the respect and dignity of all individuals is paramount,” said Brigadier-General Hercule Gosselin, Commander 2nd Canadian Division/Joint Task Force (East).

Activities were held August 10 to 20 during the festivities, including sporting events, shows, march pasts and a large conference on rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) persons.

“I am proud that the members of the 2nd Canadian Division participated in Canada’s Pride Parade in Montreal,” said BGen Gosselin. “Within the 2nd Canadian Division, we value a non-discriminatory work environment. By adhering to the principles of diversity and inclusion, we recognize the unique contributions, talents, and cultures of all of our members. This philosophy is at the very core of our operational effectiveness and our strength as an organization.”
