Watch the February 19 episode of Defence Team News!
In this episode, we highlight:
- International Decade for People of African Descent; and
- accessing 2017 tax slips
Welcome back to Defence Team News, I’m Shelley Van Hoof.
And I’m Lt(N) Jamie Bresolin. Here are the headlines at Defence.
This year the Government of Canada will officially recognize the International Decade for People of African Descent.
Spanning from 2015 to 2024, this decade recognizes the important contributions people of African descent have made to Canada, including uniformed and civilian Defence Team members.
Throughout our history, Black Canadians have shown courage and dedication to service. This tradition of military service continues strongly today with Black Canadians serving in all occupations, at every level.
This is a time for all of us to better understand the issues and challenges that affect Black Canadians and celebrate the important contributions people of African descent have made to Canadian society.
For the upcoming 2017 tax season, Public Services and Procurement Canada will be staggering access to T4 slips in the Phoenix Employee self-service system. This will avoid potential system errors caused by having too many users logging in at once.
DND employees will have access to their T4 slips on Tuesday, February 27th. You can also access slips on the Canada Revenue Agency or Revenue Quebec web sites, using your My Account log-in.
If you do not have electronic access or do not receive your tax slips by February 28th, contact the Compensation Web Applications service desk with your Personal Record Identifier and mailing address via the email listed in the related links or by calling 1-855-634-2358.
That’s it for us. Thank you so much for watching. See you next time…
