Watch a special Defence Team News Minute!
In this episode, we highlight the new workshop “Respect in the CAF: Take a stand against sexual misconduct”
Welcome back to Defence Team News, I’m Lt(N) Jamie Bresolin.
Here is a Defence Team News minute on the new workshop “Respect in the CAF: Take a stand against sexual misconduct”.
There’s a new one-day workshop for Canadian Armed Forces members to promote a respectful climate and culture within the CAF.
We recently spoke with Mireille Bujold, National Program Manager with the CAF Strategic Response Team on Sexual Misconduct, to learn more about these sessions:
The new one-day workshop is voluntary and geared to CAF members. It aims to help participants understand the nature and magnitude of sexual misconduct in the CAF, further explore and practice bystander intervention strategies, and learn more about what to do when someone tells you about an incident.
This aligns with the objectives of Operation Honour to better equip CAF members with tools to identify and address sexual misconduct. Whether it’s in the moment when an incident’s unfolding or when an effected member comes to them for help.
The workshop is interactive and provides participants with the opportunity to learn, discuss, and develop new skills through scenario-based training relevant to the CAF. The use of videos, group work, and other activities allows participants to practice their new skills.
People can contact their local health promotion office to find out about workshop availability.
That’s it for us. Thank you so much for watching. See you next time…for Defence Team News!
