Governor General Julie Payette awarded the Medal of Bravery to Master Corporal Alisha St. George of 10 Field Technical Training Squadron (10 FTTS) at Rideau Hall in late February.

MCpl St. George’s citation is as follows:

On March 11, 2015, Master Corporal Alisha St. George, then-Corporal Fisher, saved a colleague from drowning in the ocean at Torrey Pines State Beach Park, near San Diego, California. The victim had been caught in a rip tide and was struggling to reach the shore. Seeing his predicament, Master Corporal St. George rushed into the water and, after reaching his side, held the distressed man afloat for several minutes. A lifeguard finally reached them and brought the victim to safety, while Master Corporal St. George made it back to shore on her own.
