Answer the call to participate in the Quality of Life among Military Families Survey

CAF family

What’s it been like for you to struggle with relocation? To find a doctor? What impact has a military career of your spouse had on you and your family? Are you satisfied with the available program and services?

People and families are at the core of everything the Canadian Armed Forces does. As mentioned in the new Defence Policy: Strong, Secure, Engaged: “Delivering on our commitment to our people and their families is a sacred obligation and requires a comprehensive suite of initiatives that cover all aspects of how we recruit, lead, train and care for sailors, soldiers airwomen and men, as well as all those who support them.”

Spouses and partners of military members are being invited to participate in the Quality of Life among Military Families survey. You can make a difference in sharing your experiences and by giving your opinion about the existing programs and services and the way they can be improved.

Here a few key points about this research that are important to take into account:

  • The invitation to participate and the survey is mailed to randomly selected families (i.e., for the purposes of anonymity, a survey cannot be mailed to a family upon request if the family has not been already randomly selected).
  • The responses that you provide will remain confidential.
  • The survey takes about an hour to complete.
  • You can participate by filling out a paper questionnaire or an online one.

Thank you to those who have already completed the survey. If you have not done so yet and you are receiving the survey again in the mail, please do so by the end date specified on the invitation. Participation in this study is voluntary. However, maximum participation is crucial in order for us to obtain an accurate picture of the impacts of military life on families to better inform supportive policies, programs and services.
